Clinical team simulations & capability building

Case-based training in oncology medical review and clinical judgment, built on original synthetic patient scenarios.

What this involves

  • Synthetic clinical casesOriginal patient scenarios built around adverse events, laboratory data, dosing chronology, response assessment and eligibility, matched to the learning objectives.
  • Judgment and rationaleDeciding whether a finding is a data error, a clinical question or a reason to escalate, and explaining why.
  • Query qualityWriting queries that are specific, answerable and necessary.
  • Team calibrationReviewers compare their reads of the same case and agree a common approach.
  • OnboardingA structured path for new medical monitors and clinical scientists.

Why it matters in oncology

Lectures explain a rule; they rarely show how to apply it to incomplete or conflicting data. Medical monitors and clinical scientists learn by seeing many cases, and new team members often see few. Different reviewers can also reach different conclusions on the same profile.

Simulation compresses that experience and shows where a team’s judgments diverge.

When to involve us

  • Onboarding colleaguesinto oncology medical review.
  • Improving consistencyacross reviewers and functions.
  • Preparing for a new studyor a change in workflow.
  • Building review capabilityinside a CRO or a small sponsor.

How we approach it

  1. Agree the learning objectives and the roles involved.
  2. Build the cases to those objectives.
  3. Facilitate the sessions, with participants working cases before discussion.
  4. Debrief and follow up with a summary and suggestions for continued calibration.

What you receive

  • A facilitated workshop with original synthetic cases
  • Structured exercises and discussion guides
  • A learning assessment and feedback summary
  • Recommendations for continued team calibration

Working together

  • StructureA focused team workshop, an onboarding module, or a series of simulations designed around agreed outcomes.
  • What we need from youThe team’s roles and experience, the learning objectives and the review scenarios you want to practice. No live patient cases are required.
  • Roles and limitsTraining builds capability. It is not professional certification or accredited continuing education, and it does not replace study-specific qualification and procedures.

Questions

Are real patient or employer cases used?

The standard approach uses original synthetic scenarios. Any other material must be authorized and appropriately governed.

Can training be tailored to an existing team?

Yes. Case complexity, roles and examples are adapted to the team’s experience and the studies they support.
